HE HAS US IN HIS HANDS
My youngest son is twenty years old. When he was just about 1 year old, one evening we laid him in his crib for him to go to sleep. We went in the living room to watch tv. He would normally cry when it was bedtime, and then fuss a bit until he fell asleep. If you are a parent then you know you get use to the type of cry from your child, whether they are tired, hungry, sick, scared, need to be changed, etc. Well a little time goes by and we're still watching tv and his crying pretty much stopped. But something just doesn't sound and feel right. So, I get up and go in his room to check on him and the cord to the mini-blinds is wrapped around his neck, and he is hanging there in his crib. His face is purple. I yell to my wife and she comes running in and lifts him up in the air, quickly unwrapping the miniblind cord. He's breathing and color returns to his face. Thank You Lord ! He is OK. We would have been devastated if he had been gone. You know, parenting isn't easy. Most of us are learning as we go, and haven't had any formal training. But we have a God that will watch over them, especially when we're not looking. Parents......pray for your children daily.......It does make a difference!
